Our Mission
You are a famous artist. Your works sell for tens of thousands of dollars per piece. Great, isn't it!
Only one catch - you have been dead for almost a century... Isn't it a time to change this and give some recognition to artists that are living among us right now?
Internet is a powerful medium. Most recently it freed musicians from the clutches of recording studios. Now is the time to liberate fine artists.
Every artist faces two main obstacles:
1. Not being recognized in the art world.
How many times work of a very talented and hardworking artist remains ignored by people who run the art market?
How many times the artist paid big bucks to enter a show just to be rejected.
How much money artists waste to frame and ship their work to a gallery or a show, or to travel there, and earn nothing...
We want artwork to be rated by other artists - by fellow professionals and colleagues, not by incompetent or biased juries and committees.
For that we created online contests that are free of extra charges, admit everyone, and are juried by the artists themselves.
2. Not being seen by the public.
Selling to a small number of collectors and museums is achieved by very few artists.
We want your art to be visible to a larger population, to ordinary people, who simply decorate their homes.
Our web site is a tool for everyone who wants to find or commission any type of art that meets their needs - size, contents, price, and genre - and buy it directly from the artist.
We present member artist's works to general population and link the artists directly to the clients. We also developed algorithms that keep track which art genres, styles, and subjects are the most popular.
This is our mission: to help you - the artist - become successful. To help you to get deserved recognition and fair compensation for your hard work.
This website has been designed to make it easy to use. It may not be flashy, but it is intuitive, and user actions are accompanied by instructions and help hints.
Announcements
Welcome to Famous Artists Track website
We are building a nationwide list of artists that will allow art loving collectors, and ordinary people to buy art directly from the artists. We also hope that this website will make local communities aware of the artists living among them.
Unlike artists clubs that specialize in specific styles, media, and topics, we do not have any restrictions and requirements - anyone can join.
Any artist can join the list and become a member. And... art collectors may be members too!
There is no obligation, you can cancel at any time, and we will not ask for your credit card information when you sign up.
We offer a free service for 5 months, so you can look at this website and determine whether you like it or not.
This is the initial phase for our service, so now we are inviting artists, and asking them to list their artwork. Please do not be discouraged if you see only a few people listed with us - we are just starting.
We hope that you will find this website very easy to use. To make your experience even more pleasant we do not show any ads.
Once we have enough artwork listed with us we will organize our first, free of charge, online artwork contest.
Please join, use this service, and send us your comments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does FAT charge commissons on art sales? A: No, we do not charge any commissions - all the money goes to the artist.
Q: How do I sell my artwork? A: You will receive notification with contact information of the member, who wants to buy your artwork. Respond to that person and arrange the sale.
Q: What to do after the sale? A: Simply go to your listings page and click on the image to delist the artwork. Check "I sold this artwork" button and enter sales detail on the next panel to record your sale. You will find these records wery useful.
Q: Why FAT Artists does not handle the sales? A: For a simple reason - we do not have the artwork - it is in the artist's possession. We only provide listing service.
Q: Why FAT requires that you only list original artwork? A: Because original artwork does not lose value - it is both a beauty and a good investment. Value increasing in time is attractive to buyers and higher price of the original art earns the artist more money.
Q: What happens if my payment for full membership fails? A: You will get a notification if that happens. Simply log in and update your payment information. You have two months to make this correction. After that time your membership will be automatically canceled.
Q: What to consider when selling artwork? A: If paid by check make sure that the money is deposited to your bank account before you deliver the artwork. Alternatively use services that allow you to charge buyer's credit card (like PayPal or Square) or mail your artwork through COD service. Always request signature on delivery. We also recommend buying proper insurance when shipping your artwork.
Q: What to consider when buying artwork? A: Try to verify that your seller is a genuine artist, not a crook posing as one. Check if the artist has a website, is a member of any artist organizations, etc. Pay with credit card, not your personal check. Use services like PayPal to better protect your yourself.
Q: What is the best way to buy or commission artwork? A: Buy from a local artist. Meet the artist in person. This is the safest way. It benefits your local community and can also start a lifelong friendship.
Q: Does FAT store uploaded images in their original size? A: No. The images are scaled down. Smaller image shows faster on the web page and better fits the screen. Also, it cannot be used to make high quality prints of your artwork therefore preventing theft.
Q: Why is patron membership free of charge? A: To not deter potential art buyers. You do not have to pay Amazon for a privilege to buy goods through them, so why should anyone pay to buy art through FAT listings.
